#3 the greens and the browns of it

So yesterday, I felt it was time to assemble my latest colony of barnacles.
As I was pondering which colors of thread to include in my third piece, I happened on this assemblage of brown yarns all piled up together from when I received them after I won them from an online auction. They looked as if they were meant to be together, and who was I to separate them, I thought to myself. So I picked them up and played around with the grouping for a little bit and decided to pile them onto the surface of the fabric material on the hoop and simply place the barnacles over them.

Here's how it looks now:




My daughter says they look like seaweeds. I kinda like that!
I was thinking if I should stitch up the "tails" or leave them as is and, upon careful deliberation, I kinda like the way they just hang outside of the hoop that way. So stay they will. I like the texture and the freeflowing effect.

Off to #4 I go.
